About Bethel

“Making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world”

That is the mission of Bethel Wildwood Church.  In reality that is the mission of every Christian community.  But what does it mean to make disciples of Jesus Christ?

To say that our mission is “making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world” is to say that we are about ‘inviting, encouraging, and embracing anyone and everyone to come alongside us and join in the exciting adventure of learning to live and love like Jesus in such a way that together we make a lasting positive difference in the lives of other people in our community and throughout the world.’

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe the entire Bible to be the inspired, infallible Word of God, the revelation of God’s will for man and the divine and final authority for the Christian life. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

We believe in one God, the Creator of all things, who is revealed in three Persons: God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  • God the Father is an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in Holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer and that he saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

            Matthew 7:11, 6:9, 5:45, 11:25; 1 Peter 1:17; John 3:16; Ephesians 2:10

  • Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten Son conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teaching. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and personal visible return to earth.

           Matthew 1:18-25, 3:17; 1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 1:3, 5:5-10; 1 John 4:3; Revelation 1:5

  • The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity who came forth from the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgement, and to regenerate, sanctify and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ and that He is an abiding helper, teacher and guide.

            John 14:16; Romans 8:13, 26

  • We acknowledge Jesus as fully God and fully man – conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, crucified and resurrected – our High Priest and Advocate now seated at the right hand of God the Father.

            Matthew 1:18; Hebrews 12:2

  • We believe in having a personal relationship with Jesus by asking Him into our heart. It’s salvation and forgiveness of sins through the shed blood of Jesus, acknowledging every person’s need for the grace and mercy of God. We all have sinned. We all need Jesus.

            Romans 3:23-24; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3; 1 John 1:9

  • We receive Communion to remember Jesus’ sacrifice when He died on the Cross and to celebrate His resurrection power.

            Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

  • We believe in the power and effectiveness of prayer. We’ve seen countless examples of Bethel prayer warriors prevailing against illness, pain and injury and through those victories know that God is at work in our lives.

            Philippians 4:6-7; James 5:15-16

  • We believe marriage was designed and created by God for purpose of procreation as a communion between a man and a woman to build His Kingdom and spread the message of His love.

            Genesis 1:27-28; 2:23-24

WORSHIP

We have a traditional worship style on Sunday morning, and you’ll find a pretty comfortable atmosphere at our worship service.  Dress however you’d like – you’ll find some pretty casual attire and some people pretty dressed up.  That’s OK.  And don’t worry – you’re not going to get called out in the worship service and asked to tell us your life story – we want you to feel welcome, but we don’t want you to feel like you’re “on display” either.

Learn more about our worship services.

CHILDREN

There’s a staffed nursery for the little ones and early elementary age children.  Kids, of whatever age, are always welcome to stay with you in worship if that’s what you (or they) would like.

ADULTS

Already looking for some adult discussion groups in addition to worship?  We’ve got Sunday morning groups and mid-week groups that are Bible-study oriented or more family oriented.  Feel free to drop in and get a feel for them – each one has its own personality.

If you want to stick around for food and fellowship in our Fellowship Hall, take a look around either with one of us or by yourself, or just head out for lunch after worship, that’s fine.  We just want you to get to know us a little bit, and for us to get to know you.  Hopefully, we’ll hit it off!

COME WORSHIP WITH US!

Worship Service Begins at 10 am, in person or on Zoom

Office hours are 8 am – 2:30 pm Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
